Kids Activities

Own A Pony Days

Pony day provides a unique opportunity for children to own a pony for the whole day. They will learn and have lots of fun at the same time.

The children will be supervised at all times by our staff.

A typical Pony Day includes:

The children arrive at 10am with either a packed lunch or money to purchase food in the café, please wear clothing/sun cream suitable for the weather on that day.

They will be introduced to the ponies, given their tabards whilst their parents or guardian complete the registration form (contact details, any allergies etc.).

Next, they will either be mucking out, filling hay nets or water buckets, getting the ponies feed ready and helping to tack up and other duties associated with caring for a pony.

The children then take part in either a riding lesson in one of our arenas or a hack alongside the woods.

After lunch they may be getting feeds ready for the ponies or do some more grooming and plaiting etc.

Finally, they will have another riding session and help lead the ponies back to the field

All children receive either a rosette or a certificate.

Its a great day, the kids love it and better still they make new friends and gain confidence whilst doing something they love

Half day Own a Pony day sessions are also available

The Pony Club

Joining The Pony Club locally without having a pony.

Until recently you had to own your own pony to be a Member of one of the best clubs in the world, The Pony Club, but now you are been able to join The Pony Club through BRIDLEWOOD RIDING CENTRE. Now there are nearly 15,000 children who are known as Centre Members. In other words they have joined The Pony Club, a registered charity, through a Riding Centre and borrow ponies to take part in Pony Club activities. The scheme has some 500 centres nationwide catering for an age range of 5 to 21 and runs alongside Branch Membership, where youngsters are expected to have their own pony. This partnership between The Pony Club and the Riding Centre provides Members with the framework to take Pony Club Tests and Achievement Badges but also encourages them to take part in the competitive and social occasions, as well as providing Insurance.

How to join
